BOSS: THANKS TO THE FANS!

LEICESTER manager Stewart Dickson has paid tribute to the club’s travelling support for Monday’s dramatic away win at Peterborough.

Watling JCB Lions fans made the trip to the East of England Arena in large numbers and were rewarded with a first victory on the road this season in a thrilling Heat 15.

No.1 Max Fricke superbly got the better of Niels-Kristian Iversen and Michael Palm Toft in the decider, as the Lions moved up to third place in the Sports Insure Premiership table.

Dickson said: “It was a good, hard-fought victory, and it was very pleasing to do it in front of a massive travelling support, which we all really appreciate.

“Max really showed his class in Heat 15 to get us the win, but it was a really good all-round team effort.

“I’ve said before that the way our team is built, we need all seven to ride consistently, and we were delighted with the result.

“Hopefully it’s a springboard to more success but we’ll keep at it and our mind is already on two important home matches coming up.

“We have to make sure we keep winning at home, and build that momentum.”

The Lions return to action at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park on Thursday June 8 when they host Ipswich.

But before that, the Lion Cubs race at home again this Saturday (June 3, 7pm) with Belle Vue providing the opposition.
